ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

Do you offer free estimates?

Yes, the Miami Fence Company is happy to let you know that we offer comprehensive estimates for all types of project at no cost at all. The estimation process gives the property owners and us, the fence company, a summary of what the project will be like. We would already account for the updated material costs, latest labor rates, costs of equipment and other miscellaneous but necessary expenses for the project. However, it would be valuable to remember that the estimate is not a substitute for the actual billing to be paid at the end of the project.

How soon can you install my fence?

The Miami Fence Company made it our objective to ensure that you can have your fences installed as soon as possible. However, it is not possible to order a fence one day and have them installed already immediately the day after. There are many considerations before a project can start. We would need to arrange the purchase of materials needed and we would also need to process permits. Sometimes, fabrication is needed, and this would require time. Therefore, please wait for at least two to four weeks before having your fences installed. Allot up to two or three more weeks for bigger projects.

How long will my fence installation take?

The fence installation process itself takes a lot less time than the steps we need to take for prior to having them installed. Therefore, the fence installation on the average can only take about one week. This seven-day period would not all be comprised of fence installation activities. Some days within the week are left out to allow the settling and curing of materials. On these days, we will have no crew on site, but we will resume the project immediately the day after. For any changes in schedule, we will make sure to inform you ahead of time.

Will you obtain a fence permit for my project?

All licensed fence companies are required to secure permits since this is the law. The Miami Fence Company is no exception. We operate under strict regulated measures for the protection of our clients. Therefore, filing of documents for permits is very important to us. The number of required permits may vary depending on where you live. In obtaining permits, we need the full cooperation of our clients since they will be required to come up with papers and documents for the project. We will carry out the filing of permits, but this is not possible without your help.

What types of fencing materials do you install?

The Miami Fence Company is one of those fence companies that can provide every fencing material you can possibly want. From the more traditional choices and the more affordable choices to the most complicated ones that cost more, we have it all for you. Some of the materials we offer are SimTek, vinyl, wood, aluminum, steel, chain link, and brick. These all come in different styles and configurations depending on what your preferences are. Each material is also available in a number of colors and designs. These materials that we offer come only from the most reliable manufacturers and fence material suppliers in our area.

Are There Legal Restrictions on My Fence?

We cannot say for sure, but we recommend you to be prepared in case there are legal restrictions for fences in your area. The specific restrictions vary from place to place so we recommend you to check these first before proceeding with the fence installation planning. Some of the restrictions in your locality may put limits on how high your fence can be. Others can restrict the type of material, color, and even the configuration of the fence. Even if there are limitations on your fence, we want to make sure that you can make the most of what we can still change.

Do I Need to Consult My Neighbors?

Our experienced team of expert crew at the Miami Fence Company has never encountered a place where consultation with your neighbors is required whenever you are having a fence installed. However, even if it is not required, we think that it is best if you at least have a conversation with them about it. You and your neighbors share some common areas in the neighborhood. Letting them know about what you have planned can help them manage any safety issues they can anticipate. Moreover, this is a highly recommended practice if you want to sustain good relations with your neighbors.

How Deep Should My Fence Posts Be?

The recommended depth for each fence post would depend on how tall your fence will be aboveground. The taller the fence, the deeper the fence post should be to ensure that it can support the weight and the forces associated with a taller fence. On the average, if a fence is six feet tall, the ideal fence post depth will be anywhere from two to three feet. This is based on the computation that each fence post should be half the height of the fence, or at the very least, a third of it, but should never be less than this.

Should the Fence Touch the Ground?

The Miami Fence Company’s team of expert crew strongly and vehemently advices against having your fences touch the ground. At the minimum, you must leave at least two up to five inches between the ground and the fence panels. You would not want to make your fence touch the ground at all times since this can be damaging to the fence. the ground contains significant amounts of water. Water is one of the natural substances that can speed up the deterioration of fences, whatever material was used. If this is unavoidable, have a wall put up instead.

Does the Weather Affect the Installation?

We at the Miami Fence Company pay careful attention to planning every step of our fence project. We try to anticipate any problems or hitches that we may encounter along the way and we put measures to prevent them from derailing the planned fence installation processes. However, the weather is beyond our control. Despite this, we make sure that the weather would not damage the fence being installed. Our site manager knows when a temporary hold of the project is warranted. Any delays and rescheduling due to inclement weather conditions will be duly and promptly reported to you for your convenience.

How Tall Should My Fence Be?

There is no standard fence height set for properties. In residential settings, there is no strict recommendation for the fence height. In our experience, we follow certain average heights for the fences that we install. In many settings, a height of six feet or eight feet is a suitable height for many types of applications. This offers the greatest privacy and security without being excessively high. If you want to showcase your porch, façade, landscaping and architecture, a lower fence of about three feet tall may be enough. In special settings like in back stops for baseball fields, considerable height is necessary.

What Material Should I Use for My Fence?

The Miami Fence Company offers many materials for your fences, but at the end of the day, the choice of fencing material will be your decision. You may take many things into account with coming up with the right choice. Some of the things you should consider are your budget, the type of property you have, and the specific fence restrictions in your area. You should make your choice depending on what you really need. For example, there are fence types that are appropriate for privacy concerns or for security concerns, and there are fences that are not.

How Long Will the Fence Last?

The long lastingness of any fence type you install would depend on so many things. First and foremost, certain materials are more durable and long lasting than others and that is simply the way it is. Some fences can last for a long period of time if they are maintained very well in a meticulous way. However, others can last just as long without needing the same maintenance efforts. Another factor that can affect how long a fence will last is how well it was installed. If it was placed haphazardly, chances are, it may tilt on its base which will compromise its integrity.
